In this video I head back up to one of my favourite places in Scotland—Lochinver in Sutherland—with Tanya and the campervan, and I paint a quick plein air watercolour of Suilven. It’s one of those subjects that just never gets old: that unmistakable shape sitting in the landscape, and the light up there can change everything in minutes. I keep the painting moving along, focusing on the big shapes first and letting the watercolour do what it does best rather than fussing over every tiny detail. I also explain what I’m doing with these video paintings going forward: I’m selling them at a low price to encourage more people to have a go at watercolour, and the money just goes straight back into making more videos and getting us out on more trips.
