We've been wanting to make this video for ages, but one way or another we have never got around to filming our home city! Here we show you a snippet of Edinburgh old town, walk up Calton Hill and take a look at a few of my favourite paintings in the National Gallery. I finish off with a sketch of the castle from Princes Street gardens. If you have enjoyed my channel and would like to support it, 'buy me a coffee' is the perfect way to do so! All money donated goes back into making new videos and adventures in our van. Many thanks. https://www.buymeacoffee.com/jamespotter Prints of all my paintings done on my channel are available from my website. You can even buy the original if still available. https://www.jamespotterart.co.uk https://www.instagram.com/jamespotteraboutart/ https://www.buymeacoffee.com/jamespotter

About This Video

We’ve been wanting to make this video for ages, but for one reason or another we never actually got round to filming our home city—so here it is: Edinburgh. I take you for a wander through the Old Town for a proper little snippet of the atmosphere, then we walk up Calton Hill for those big, open views that make you stop and just look for a while. It’s not a full-on painting trip in the van this time, more of a relaxed look at the city that’s shaped a lot of what I’m drawn to when I paint. I also pop into the National Gallery to show you a few of my favourite paintings—because I honestly think looking at great work in person is one of the best ways to feed your own painting. I finish off in Princes Street Gardens with a sketch of the castle, keeping it simple and direct, the way I like to work on location. If you enjoy these videos and want to help keep them going, you can support the channel via Buy Me a Coffee, and if you fancy owning a piece from the channel, prints (and sometimes originals) are available on my website.
