After 2 months break from YouTube, we're now back for our regular postings (weather permitting!) We decided to explore The Borders area of Scotland which was spectacular, the smaller mountains still had beauty even if not as large as the ones in The Highlands. This is a view across St Mary's Loch and the light was beginning to go towards the end This was a small 7" x10" watercolour on Fabriano artistic paper, 140lb in natural white If you have enjoyed my channel and would like to support it, 'buy me a coffee' is the perfect way to do so! About This Video

After a two-month break, I’m finally back out painting again (weather permitting!) and this one takes you with me into the Scottish Borders. We parked up and found a cracking view across St Mary’s Loch, with the light starting to drop towards the end of the day. I always love that moment in Scotland—when the whole scene calms down and you get those softer values and a bit of glow on the water and hills. In the video I work on a small 7" x 10" watercolour on Fabriano Artistico 140lb in natural white. I talk through keeping it simple, focusing on the big shapes first, and letting the light do the heavy lifting rather than overworking every detail. The Borders might not have the sheer scale of the Highlands, but the smaller mountains still have loads of beauty—especially when you’re painting them from life and the conditions keep changing. If you enjoy the videos and want to help fund more campervan trips and paintings with Tanya, I also share my Buy Me a Coffee link and where you can get prints or ask about originals.
