Tanya and I visit a hidden gem in the Borders - Cove Harbour. From now on I'll be selling the paintings that I make in these videos at a low price to encourage people to get into this wonderful past time of watercolour painting. The money raised from each painting will go back into making more videos. If you have enjoyed my channel and would like to support it, 'buy me a coffee' is the perfect way to do so! All money donated goes back into making new videos and adventures in our van. About This Video

Tanya and I head off in the van to a proper little hidden gem in the Borders—Cove Harbour—and I take you through a full watercolour from first sketch right through to the finished painting. I’m working the scene in a straightforward, practical way: getting the drawing in quickly, establishing the big shapes, then building the painting in layers so the light and atmosphere stay believable. Cove’s got those lovely coastal structures and moody shoreline tones that really suit watercolour, so it’s a great subject for showing how I simplify what I’m looking at and keep the values under control. I also talk about something I’m doing from now on: I’ll be selling the original paintings I make in these videos at a low price to encourage more people to have a go at watercolour. Any money raised goes straight back into making more videos and getting us out on more trips. If you fancy supporting the channel, you can ‘buy me a coffee’, and if you’re after prints (or an original), everything’s linked through my website.
