In this video, I walk you through a super simple, step-by-step way to set up your GoPro Hero 12 so your footage stops looking “too ripe” and starts looking cinematic. I build three custom presets I actually use on real adventures—so if you’re vlogging, fishing, camping, diving, or just chasing travel moments, you can dial in settings fast and cover a bunch of our most-used perspectives. I also show you where to switch your GoPro into Pro controls (not Easy), because that’s where the good stuff lives. First up is my Everyday Outdoors preset: 4K, 16:9, HDR, Wide lens, Hypersmooth on, white balance auto, Vibrant color, and sharpness dropped to Low so the look isn’t overly crunchy. Then I set up a POV preset for bite-mount and “in-the-shoes” shots—Standard profile (not HDR), 4K, 50fps, SuperView, Hypersmooth on, and again sharpness Low. Finally, I build an Indoor/Low Light preset: Standard profile, 4K, 25fps, Wide, and (when mounted or talking to camera) Hypersmooth off, shutter set to 1/25, ISO max bumped to 3200, and color set to Natural for a cleaner low-light look.
