About This Video

Yeah yeah, I know you think you’ve seen this before… but you haven’t. In this film, we put the Insta360 GO 3S through a proper cinematic travel-style test—because it’s not enough for a tiny action cam to just be “cute,” it has to deliver when the shots get serious. Over a few weeks, I mounted this little 4K beast in places you’d never risk with a bigger camera: down on a stunt plane (yep, up to 5G), on an FPV setup for sunrise hydrofoiling, and in rugged action sport conditions trackside with dirt bikes. We break down the exact approach that made the footage feel cinematic: shooting FreeFrame video in 4K/25, going manual, locking ISO and shutter, and using ND filters (ND64 was the move) to keep that sweet, sweet motion blur with a 1/50 shutter. I also tested Dewarp FOV for cleaner, more natural-looking travel shots, and we took it underwater—because action cams have always been our go-to for that world. Big takeaway: the GO 3S is genuinely capable when you treat it like a cinema tool—controlled settings, steady movement, and intentional light. Also, being the smallest action camera in the world is a blessing… and sometimes a curse (we literally had to recover it), but features like Apple Find My can save your day—if you actually activate it.
