About This Video

In this video, I’m breaking down my step-by-step process for making aesthetic travel videos in under five minutes using CapCut—right on my phone (and you can do the same on desktop too). I take a short montage approach: I used 22 clips and grabbed roughly one second from each, almost like every shot is a photo, then arranged them on the timeline for instant flow. When you’re building that “aesthetic” feeling, I like two approaches: either keep continuity within one environment (beach, jungle, desert), or intentionally mix locations for texture. And honestly, even boring clips can look super cool once you start styling them properly. From there, I show the exact free effects I’m using: Leak II, Nostalgic, Film Frame 2, Handwritten, Film 1, and Black and White Film. I’ll often layer effects (Leak II with an aged film frame is a combo I love), and I always tweak intensity, speed, and range so the look feels harmonious instead of overcooked. Then we finish it off with vibe builders—moody minimal music, keeping foley in the mix, and adding a simple story through voiceover and/or text. The narrative is what makes people feel something, so I lean into reflective, nostalgic moments that are relatable—because that’s where the power is.
