About This Video

In this video, we’re out in Bocas del Toro, Panama putting the Insta360 GO 3 through a proper travel-filmmaking test and answering the big question: revolutionary… or just gimmicky? We’ve had the GO 3 in our hands for a couple months, so we break down what’s actually new—starting with the “action pod” (yep, the screen part). Being able to remotely preview, review, and control the camera with that flip touch screen is honestly something we’ve never really seen in the action-cam space, and it opens up a ton of creative framing options while still keeping the camera crazy tiny. We compare the GO 3 to the GO 2 and also stack it up against the GoPro Hero 11. Image-wise, GO 3 bumps up to 2.7K and looks more refined with better definition and dynamic range in shadows/highlights, even though Insta360 hasn’t really shouted about sensor changes. Battery is also a real-world upgrade—around 50% more standalone time, and up to 170 minutes when paired with the action pod. Where the GO 3 really shines is versatility: the new magnetic mounting system plus included accessories makes shot selection ridiculously easy. But we’re also real about the trade-off—GoPro’s bigger sensor still wins on pure quality and definition. For us, GO 3 is the camera you actually keep on you, and that matters more than specs when you’re chasing adventures.
