About This Video

What’s up guys — in this edit I’m walking you through my simple 5-step GoPro cinematic workflow inside the free CapCut desktop app (I’m on Mac, but it’s on Windows too). The whole goal is to make editing feel fun again and actually help you hit export on your travel film today. This is progress, not perfectionism — and if your computer is slow, I’ll show you a couple of small setup moves (like using an external drive and toggling proxies) that make CapCut run way smoother. The workflow is: (1) dump and select, (2) bookend with music, (3) arrange for flow, (4) add SFX + color grade, and (5) export + upload. I’m big on being ruthless with your selects — if a clip doesn’t immediately impress you (shaky, dark, bad light), don’t waste time trying to polish it. Then I “bookend” the edit by choosing my favorite section of a song (not the whole track) and letting that structure the timeline. From there we build flow with mirroring, speed/tempo changes (only really works if you shot 50/60fps+), and keyframing for movement. Finally, I show how I handle color in CapCut using LUTs (with adjustment layers per lighting environment), plus sound design using CapCut’s built-in SFX, whooshes, rises, and a bit of audio ducking. I finish with export settings — and why I often export GoPro sequences in 30fps when I’ve shot lots of higher frame rate clips.
