About This Video

In this video, I’m fixing the number one problem I see with beginner GoPro footage: we all default to the same boring shots, filmed the same boring way. So instead of mindlessly panning to “reveal” something, I walk you through simple mindset shifts and shot swaps that instantly make your travel films feel more cinematic. We do everything from driving over the subject for a shock reveal (and I show you how to lock exposure properly on the GoPro 12), to flipping the classic POV morning reveal into a reaction-style selfie rig that actually shows emotion. I also share a few easy edit-and-shoot tricks that level things up fast: recording yourself twice and masking in Premiere Pro to put two versions of you in the same scene, using an older GoPro for a “product in use” mounted shot, and choosing TimeWarp/hyperlapse over standard video for more energy. We finish with creative modes people forget about—like light painting for low light—and my favorite Hyperlapse “tap to real time” move to mix linear and orbiting motion. If you want your next GoPro travel vlog to feel intentional, steal these shots and run with them.
