In this video I’m getting into two brand new gourmand drops that had the gourmand girlies UP: The 7 Virtues Buttercream Haze and SKYLAR Double Dates. I break down how each one smells on paper and on my skin (because baby, outside air will tell the truth), what notes I actually pick up, and who I think each scent is really for. And yes… they both went fully edible, just in two very different ways. Buttercream Haze opens gorgeous to me—lemon zest on top of a fluffy, buttery cake vibe with caramel/maple drizzle and a little rum warmth. The problem? The longevity is not giving on my skin (I’m talking about 2 hours), and in the mid it can turn a little doughy/bready like dry pastry, which is where it loses me a bit. Double Dates, though… I didn’t like it at first spray in Sephora because it was loud and overly sweet, but the dry down melted into this sexy, sticky brown sugar/toffee/vanilla caramel situation that lasted well over 4 hours from one spray. If I had to pick a winner, I’m going with Double Dates—she’s date night, warm, sultry, and she actually stays.
