In this video, I’m giving you my first impression and honest review of the brand new Miss Dior Essence. I was way too eager to wait for the Sephora launch, so I ordered directly from Dior and unboxed the 35ml. The presentation is gorgeous (textured bottle, black bow, very classy), but of course the real question is: how does it smell on paper and on my skin, and is it worth that $135 price tag? On the first spray, Miss Dior Essence hit me as very floral-forward and honestly a little screechy in the opening. I get freshness, a touch of fruit (I can tell there’s a fruity vibe in there), and something slightly green/citrusy—but the jasmine is the main character and it comes in sharp. To my nose, it can lean headache-inducing if you’re sensitive to strong white florals, but I do think it’s loud and long-lasting. As it settles, it gets a little sweeter and slightly woody, and I can see why someone would call it elegant, chic, and “grown.” For me though, I like it but I don’t love it, and at this price I’m not keeping fragrances that aren’t a love. If you’re a jasmine girl who likes fresh floral with a fruity touch, this could be your moment—just don’t expect a super jammy blackberry takeover.
