About This Video

In this vlog, I’m walking you through the real-life system I’m using to write my debut novel (a speculative dystopian trilogy) while working full time as a mathematician. I show you what my “ideal writing system” looks like on paper, and then what it looks like in practice across a few weekdays—morning routine, a focused writing block, my work day, and an evening check-in that includes reading, content creation, and getting back to the manuscript after work. This is very Type A Wellness-coded: I’m not chasing vibes, I’m designing a repeatable process. I do word count check-ins, I pay attention to my energy and how my body feels (including a day where I straight up feel like shxt), and I adjust the plan instead of scrapping the goal. One of my biggest mindset shifts in the video is redefining what “writing every day” actually means so I can stay consistent without burning out. If you’re a high-achieving woman trying to build a creative life alongside a demanding career, this is my data-driven, self-reflective approach: systems thinking, micro-moment creative exercises, reading with craft in mind, and routines that are sustainable—not punishing.
