I headed deep into the Arizona desert during a heat wave to do a real-world stress test on the Cybertake S2 Pro portable air conditioner inside my GFC setup. It was 101° when we rolled in and the trip peaked at full-on “inferno” temps, so this wasn’t a casual camp night—this was me trying to see if I could stop sweating through my clothes and actually make summer desert camping livable. I ran a thermometer, set the unit up for the first time, and gave you my honest first impressions while I edited in the camper and watched how the air actually circulated. After about two hours, I kind of loved it. I was seeing around 73° inside the camper, which is super comfortable for me, and the controller/thermostat setup is legit—being able to adjust it from up in the rooftop area is a game changer. I’ll be honest though: routing matters. I didn’t vent the hot air perfectly at first, and downstairs stayed warmer because of where that heat was dumping, so next time I’d run it outside the truck for the best results. I slept great, even had to shut it off because it got a little too chilly, and overall it’s a solid option if you’re an Arizona desert rat like me—or you just want to take the edge off with the heater mode in cooler seasons.
