In this video, I’m walking you through my 2026 productivity/gaming desk setup and why I’ve kept a lot of this stuff for years. The desk itself is an old IKEA desk I’ve had for about 6 years (you can literally see the edges coming apart), but I’m still rocking it until it breaks. I also show the MKBHD desk mat I’ve used for 3–4 years because it’s super durable—and yes, I’ve thrown it in the washer multiple times with no issues. For the main workflow, I’m on a simple single-monitor setup with an ASUS 24-inch 60Hz display that’s been with me for 5+ years. It’s fine for casual gaming and productivity, but I’m being real: I want something more color accurate because my edits can look different on my iPhone. Audio-wise, I’m using the Logitech G Astro A50 X headset (great for switching between work and gaming), plus a Blue Yeti on a Compass boom arm for voiceovers and meetings. I also added an Elgato Key Light that honestly takes your lighting to another level. Then I get into the “hybrid” part: my Xbox Series S and a BenQ docking station that lets me swap my laptop and Xbox to the same monitor with one button. And the main character is my ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16—still editing my videos since 2021, with upgraded RAM/storage, but the battery life and fan noise are the trade-offs for performance.
