About This Video

Apple just dropped AirPods Pro 3 firmware 8B34, and in this video I walk you through how to check your current firmware, how the update process works, and what I’m seeing (and what other people are reporting) after updating—especially around Active Noise Cancellation. I show you where to find the firmware version in Settings once your AirPods Pro 3 are connected, and I also mention using Apple’s firmware page so you can confirm what the latest version actually is. The big thing to know is that AirPods firmware updates automatically, but if you’re stuck, I go over the steps that usually force it: update your iPhone to the latest iOS (in this case, iOS 26.2), connect to Wi‑Fi, put both buds in the case, plug the case into power, and wait about 30 minutes. I also point out something I noticed during updating: the AirPods version can jump to 8B34 before the case firmware catches up, so give it a few minutes. As for changes, some users are saying ANC is finally consistent again and that audio (and bass) sounds better. Personally, I’m not hearing that little high‑pitch sound I used to sometimes get when connecting—at least for now. But there are still reports of bugs like one earbud not working right away, and a spatial audio toggle issue where it can turn off even though it still shows as enabled.
