Apple is reportedly working on it now, with a possible “finished” timeline around 2027—which, in my head, lines up with us being in AirPods Pro 4 territory by then. I’m also still hoping we get AirPods Pro 3 sooner (like 2025), and I’ve already made a separate video on what features to expect there. The big idea is that these cameras would work with Apple Intelligence (I’m talking Apple’s AI stuff) so you could ask Siri to describe your environment or tell you what’s around you—kind of like the Meta glasses vibe. The cameras could also improve Spatial Audio, especially when paired with Apple Vision Pro: if you turn your head away from the screen while watching something, the audio in that direction could be emphasized for a more natural, locked-in experience. My main concerns are battery life (cameras + processing can’t be free), and real-life usability—long hair or hats could block the cameras. Honestly, I still think smart glasses make more sense than camera earbuds, but after seeing Beats put a heart-rate monitor in Powerbeats Pro 2, I’m not ruling anything out.
