About This Video

We need to stop relying on 20-year-old technology to protect our homes, so in this video I put the Reolink TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi to the test. It’s basically the equivalent of having three or four cameras because it’s a dual-lens, 360° hybrid 4K setup: a wide-angle lens for coverage and a telephoto lens with 6x hybrid zoom for detail. I walk through what you get in the box, the hardware layout (3,000-lumen adjustable floodlights, speaker, mic, PIR sensors, microSD slot), and then I install it the same way you’d replace a normal outdoor light fixture—breaker off, swap the bracket, hang it on the hook while wiring, then secure it in place. After the install, I show daytime and nighttime sample footage and then dig into the app. You can run dual view, use PTZ controls, talk through the camera, trigger the light or siren, adjust detection for person/pet/vehicle, set no-detection zones, and dial in auto-tracking (including digital tracking first if you don’t want it constantly panning). The big takeaway for me is that pan/tilt cameras can minimize how many cameras you need, and Reolink’s AI search is a game changer for finding events fast. My main gripe is the tracking can be a little herky-jerky, but honestly that’s pretty common under the $250–$260 range and it may improve with firmware updates.
