About This Video

Have you ever been involved in a hit and run, or had your vehicle backed into while you’re in the store? That’s exactly why I wanted to test the 70mai A800S. In this video I go over the features that make it a great budget-friendly dash cam, and why it’s a serious contender if you want 4K for around 100 bucks. I cover the big stuff: 4K front camera, GPS, ADAS (advanced driver assistance alerts), and 24/7 parking monitoring when you hardwire it. I also walk through the design and install. Up front you get a 3-inch IPS screen with physical buttons (which I prefer over a tiny touchscreen), USB-C power, rear cam input, and a microSD slot that supports up to 256GB. The front sensor is the Sony Starvis IMX415, and it uses 70mai “Night Owl Vision” to help with low light, glare, and exposure. For mounting, I like the electrostatic sticker + bracket setup because you can remove the camera without ripping the adhesive off your windshield. Then I show real-world footage—day, overcast, sunny, and night—plus rear cam clips (1080p). My takeaway: video quality is on par with most 4K dash cams, and for the price and feature set, it’s an easy one to consider—especially if you want parking mode with the hardwire kit.
