About This Video

In this video I’m taking a hands-on look at the TP-Link Tapo DL110 smart Wi‑Fi door lock and answering the big question: is this the best smart lock you can grab for around $150? I go over what comes in the box, why I actually like the sleek black/gray design (it blends in instead of looking super “techy”), and I walk you through the install step-by-step—outside half, cable routing, mounting plate, inside half, then battery and app pairing. Then I get into the stuff that matters: security and real-world use. The DL110 is BHMA Grade 2, which is more secure than a lot of smart locks people end up buying. You get six ways to unlock (fingerprint, passcode, app, smart home voice control, and physical key), plus a doorbell button which is kind of a cool add-on. I also show the Tapo app features like one-time PINs, event logs, member management, auto-lock, scramble PIN, and trace protection. My biggest “wish it had this” is a motion sensor to wake the keypad—right now you have to touch it first—but overall it’s quieter than most locks I’ve tested and the 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery is a huge win.
