So you’ve got a pool… all you want to do is swim in it, right? The last thing you want to do is clean it. In this video I tested the Poolmate Hydro 3S robotic pool vacuum and broke down the features, specs, and what actually happened when I put it in my pool. It’s sitting a little over $500 right now, which to me is a solid mid-range price because you’ll usually see similar feature sets up in the $700–$1,000 range. I go over what’s in the box (charger, pool hook, and even an air duster to blow out the charging port), how the cleaner navigates with an S-shaped path, and how it uses tracks plus dual brushes to scrub the floor, walls, and the water line. One of the big highlights is it goes higher above the water line than most cleaners I’ve tested, which helps knock out that algae/muck line. I also show the app (Bluetooth), the cleaning modes (auto, floor, wall, and eco), and why the top-load filter basket that opens from the top and bottom makes cleanup way easier. My final takeaway: it’s surprisingly lightweight, cleans really well, and the matte white finish is a nice touch if you’re like me and hate water spots and fingerprints.
