If you’ve got a pool, you already know the deal: instead of enjoying it, you end up spending a bunch of time skimming bugs, leaves, grass, and whatever else decides to land on the surface. In this video I test the Aiper Surfer S2, which is basically a cordless robotic pool skimmer that just “surfs” the top of the water all day. I already use the Aiper Scuba X1 to clean the floor, walls, and waterline—but it doesn’t touch the surface—so the Surfer S2 is meant to fill that gap. I go over what you get in the box, the design (big solar panel up top, handle, sensors, rollers, and the front roller brush), and how the 4L debris basket works with a fine 150-micrometer filter plus a chlorine dispenser. I also walk through the app—scheduling, start/stop, joystick manual control, and firmware settings. My takeaway: with solar seeking tech and obstacle avoidance/self-rescue, it’s a smart add-on that keeps the surface clean day and night, and it makes a solid all-in-one combo with the Scuba X1 so there’s less junk sinking down for the main robot to deal with.
