About This Video

ProPresenter has released v7.19 (version 19), and after about four months in private and public betas, it’s bringing some solid stability plus a couple new features that are actually worth talking about. I almost didn’t make a “new version” video, but the new Media Rendering Engine changed my mind because it can freak people out at first. When you drag media into the Media Bin, you might see a temporary thumbnail that looks like ProPresenter is broken—but it’s not. ProPresenter is just rendering the graphic in the background so it has the best chance of looking good, and it only has to do that once per file to be efficient with disk space and processing power. I also walk through the UI changes in the top-right corner, where some buttons shifted to make room for new Status and Notifications icons. In the Status area, you can even pause the Media Manager—super helpful if the one-time thumbnail regeneration is causing transition issues during a service. The other big update is the Clean Up Unlinked Media tool, which finally gives church teams a practical way to clear out unused files in the Media Assets folder. I show you where it lives (Settings > Media) and explain how to maximize savings by deleting old playlists and old library presentations first. At my church, we cleared over 40GB, so if you run it, tell me in the comments how much you got back.
