About This Video

In this video I’m introducing my new LED pixel controller board built specifically for live production. You connect it to your LED strip or Christmas string lights along with power and Wi‑Fi, then use the device web page to set your pixel count, pick a static color for quick looks, or flip it into Art-Net so your lighting software can control pixels over the network. The whole goal here is making addressable LEDs actually usable in real church and event environments—simple setup, reliable control, and options when you’re tight on channels. Because it’s Christmas season, the first iteration is packaged as a complete system to control one tree. The base kit includes the power supply, the controller PCB (up to 800 LEDs), and the right cables—including power injection after about 150 pixels so the LEDs stay “super happy” and don’t brown out. I also walk through my tree pixel calculator: enter your tree height and base diameter and it tells you how many strings you need, where to inject power, and what XT60 splitters/adapters and cable lengths make sense. I also show my Wi‑Fi setup flow (ESP32 = 2.5 GHz only) using my config page, plus Art-Net settings like subnet, universe, start channel, and Zones mode—so you can control a whole tree with as little as 3 DMX channels when you need to.
