We have seen so much growth in our Young Adult Ministry the past couple years and our Tech Setup has grown just as much. About This Video

In this video I walk through how our Young Adult Ministry tech setup went from “a laptop on a cart that wouldn’t charge” to a legit mobile (and now semi-permanent) audio, video, and lighting rig that supports weekly worship gatherings. We’ve seen crazy growth—from 17 to 132 students—and the production had to keep up. I share the mindset that guided every step: use what you have until it’s no longer viable, then build the next right upgrade. That meant starting with wall XLRs to an analog rack mixer, DIY LED bars, an Aviom in-ear system pulled from storage, and quick wins like mounting a stage display TV so the band could actually see it. From there, I show the practical builds that made the biggest difference: putting our Aviom switch and track interface into a road case, running Ethernet cleanly so we weren’t taping cables across the floor, and designing 4x8 rolling platforms in Fusion 360 so drums/keys could stay wired and deploy fast. That took setup from an hour to about 10 minutes. I also talk through upgrading to an X32/DL32 mobile rack (and later a Behringer WING rack), Dante audio routing, ATEM video switching, and how I’m using Bitfocus Companion + Stream Deck (and even ProPresenter triggers) to automate lights, projectors, and room control. If you’re building church production systems that are reliable, volunteer-friendly, and scalable, this is the full journey.
