About This Video

This ProPresenter update is massive because of one key feature: in ProPresenter v21, I can import a .PPTX and it comes in fully editable instead of getting flattened into still images. In this video I walk through the new path—File > Import > PowerPoint as Presentation (Beta)—and then I open the editor to show you what actually comes through: text boxes, shapes, images, and even embedded video elements that I can trim, loop, replace, and adjust with normal ProPresenter tools. For church world, that’s huge, because PowerPoint is still the global standard for pastors and traveling speakers, but ProPresenter is where we want to live for service flow and presentation control. I also show the real-world “beta” side of this feature. Some things may not translate perfectly—like two-column layouts, charts, slide notes, and certain advanced elements (carousels and live video inputs). In my test, I built the deck in Keynote and exported to PowerPoint, and Keynote warned me it removed certain features during export—so ProPresenter never had a chance to import them. My biggest takeaway: test your deck, especially if you rely on charts, notes, or special slide elements. But overall, I’m pumped—especially because we no longer need PowerPoint installed on the ProPresenter machine just to get a presentation into ProPresenter.
