About This Video

I’ve been testing the PunQtum speaker station, belt packs, and a couple headsets, and it’s become really obvious to me: this system feels like it was built for churches and live events. In this video I walk through how the hardware connects, why it’s IP-based, and how PoE+ changes everything compared to the old “XLR daisy chain” comms days. We look at the speaker station as the core, what the PoE+ ports actually do, and how you can get a simple setup running with just a speaker station, two belt packs, two headsets, and Ethernet. Then I go deep on configuration using Q-Tool (Mac or PC): roles (templates), channel assignments, headset mic profiles (dynamic vs electric), display options, program audio/IFB dim, priorities, and the alt-page functions on the P button (PA outputs, talk-to-all, talk-to-many groups, GPIO control, system mute/silence, mic kill). I also show practical church workflows—like keeping the video director off the general line—and how adding a basic PoE+ switch (and eventually Netgear AV Line + VLANs) makes the whole system scale cleanly. Finally, I cover the free PunQtum wireless app: it’s useful for specific “listen in while moving” use cases, but I don’t recommend depending on phones for mission-critical comms.
