About This Video

ProPresenter version 20 is here, so in this video I do a deep dive on the brand-new ProPresenter Remote app and compare it to the old app (now renamed ProPresenter Remote Classic). The big headline is simple: the new Remote app is the future, it’s free, and it only works with ProPresenter v20 and beyond. The Classic app still matters if you’re on older versions, and for now you can even enable both inside ProPresenter’s Network settings—there are separate toggles for Remote and Remote Classic, plus the password setup. I walk through what Classic could do (basic slide control, stage display layouts, audio, timers, and messages), then I show why the new app is better than ever. You can switch libraries, follow the presentation, use timeline controls, and clear specific layers right from the app. The new app also adds powerful control for macros, props, and looks—so if you want to trigger looks, props, or macros from a mobile device, you’re going to love it. One of my favorite upgrades is that the new app can run on a Mac from the Mac App Store, which opens up options like controlling ProPresenter from a second Mac or giving an operator a simpler interface. Just remember: it’s for remote control—your setup still happens in the main ProPresenter interface.
