I had two crewneck sweatshirts that I genuinely loved (sentimental, cozy, all the memories)… and yet they just sat there because I never actually reached for them. So in this video I take those two sweatshirts and combine them into one hoodie I’ll actually wear all the time. I walk you through how I plan the redesign, decide what parts to keep, and then cut and piece everything together so it looks intentional—not like a "craft project". You’ll see my process for mapping out the hood, pockets, and sleeves, plus a really practical sleeve gusset trick that helps with movement and fit. I also show how I handle a molded plastic zipper: how to shorten it cleanly and then sew it into the hoodie so it sits nicely and doesn’t fight you. The big takeaway is that you can keep the emotional value of a garment while making it functional again—and that’s the whole point of upcycling for me: less waste, more wearing, and a piece that feels like you.
