Ever find an amazing pair of pants … but they're no where near big enough? In this video, I take two tiny pairs and combine them into one super cool pair that fits about a size 10. The magic happens with a panel taken from the back of the donor pants, which becomes a cool side insert and turns the original back pocket into a fun new side pocket. It is a creative upcycle that looks intentional and stylish. This technique is surprisingly doable if you are comfortable with basic sewing skills. I walk you through the process step by step so you can see exactly how it comes together and feel confident trying it yourself. If this project feels a bit beyond your current skill level, that is totally okay. My beginner sewing course is designed to help you build those core skills so projects like this feel achievable and fun. You will learn the foundations that make upcycling so much easier. Whether you are here for inspiration or ready to grab your scissors, I hope this gives you new ideas for transforming thrifted pieces into something uniquely yours. About This Video

Ever find a pair of thrifted pants that are adorable… and also about six sizes too small? That’s exactly what I’m tackling in this pant mash-up. I start with two tiny pairs (think size 0-ish) and combine them into one intentionally-designed, super wearable pair that fits closer to a size 10. The “aha” moment is using a panel from the back of the donor pants as a side insert—so you get extra width without it looking like an afterthought. I walk you through the overall process and the design choices that make it look cool on purpose, like turning the original back pocket into a brand-new side pocket. If you’ve got basic sewing skills and you’re comfortable taking pants apart and putting them back together, this is surprisingly doable—and it’s such a good reminder that fit issues aren’t a dead end. And if you’re not quite there yet, that’s totally okay: my beginner sewing course is built to help you get those core skills so projects like this feel achievable (and actually fun).
