On their own, neither piece was doing much, but together they turn into something that looks intentional and polished (and honestly, kind of “designer”). I walk you through the full transformation, including how I plan the cut lines, manage the bulk, and keep the whole thing looking clean instead of craft-project-ish. My favourite part of this makeover is the hem treatment: I use the original hem from the men’s denim shirt as a ready-made finish to shorten the sweater. It’s one of those upcycling tricks that instantly upgrades the result, because you’re borrowing a factory finish instead of trying to reinvent it. I’ll be real—this is not a beginner-friendly project.
