In this video, I’m talking about the “secret” to meditation—and it’s probably not what you think. If meditation has felt hard, frustrating, or like you’re just sitting there thinking about how you shouldn’t be thinking… I get it. I’m not anti-meditation at all (even though it might look like that sometimes). I’ve worked with a ton of people one-on-one, and what I’ve found is that breathwork can be the bridge that helps you finally have a better relationship with meditation. I share how I see breathwork as an active meditation—something that gives your mind less room to spiral because you’re focused on inhale/exhale and you’re fully in your body. Then, once you’ve calmed the system and slowed the breath (and usually the mind follows), you can ease into a more passive meditation where you’re not controlling anything—just witnessing. Lately my personal rhythm has been something like 40 minutes of breathwork and 20 minutes of meditation, but you can scale it down to whatever you have (even 2 minutes + 8 minutes). The takeaway: it doesn’t have to be “meditation versus breathwork.” They’re on the same team—different sensations, same family.
