About This Video

In this Motherhood Diaries episode, I’m taking you with me on a little 3-day birthday trip to Victoria, BC—with my 7 month old in tow. I came with my friends to celebrate Mary, but because my baby is breastfed (and I honestly haven’t spent a day apart from her), traveling without her wasn’t realistic. So my husband came too, and while the girls were out taking pictures and doing their thing, I was doing a lot of “new mom” life—playing with my baby, soothing her in a new environment, and trying to still enjoy myself. We kept the trip intentionally slow: docks, a walk while my friends kayaked, dinner plans, and later a massage that had me in full “zen mode.” Victoria genuinely surprised me—it reminded me so much of the UK (the roads, the weather
the no-sun vibes), and it felt good to be in a different city even if I wasn’t doing the most. One of my biggest takeaways is how much motherhood changes you: I used to want to explore everything, but now I’m in a season where I actually want things to slow down. And sometimes the win is simple—layering baby up, going on a walk to get her to nap, and making peace with a trip that looks different in this phase.
