In this Motherhood Diaries episode, I’m taking you through a real day in my life with my 6-month-old, from the little ā€œmom hacksā€ that get us through the day to how I’m trying to be more intentional about my health. One hack I swear by right now: when I need her to sleep while I’m in the kitchen, I put her in the carrier, turn on the hood fan, and once the extractor noise starts, she knocks out like magic. I also show you what I’m cooking for lunch—sweet potato and yam porridge with turkey (plus shrimp/crayfish), mashing the sweet potato to thicken it and finishing with a little palm oil and dried hot leaves. I also share what my friend and I are doing for ā€œ75 Mediumā€ starting January 2nd—two movements a day (walking is compulsory), eating healthy with no processed sugar, prioritizing protein, 3L of water, and one self-care thing daily. Later, it’s play time with our Lovevery Inspector Play Kit while I turn my space into a mini gym and squeeze in a Grow with Jo leg day cardio/weights workout—because working out as a mom means pausing mid-set when baby needs you. I end the day handing her over to her dad for stories, taking my ā€œme time,ā€ and prepping mentally for baby’s first flight because we’re traveling to another city in Canada soon.
