This week’s motherhood diaries was one of those real “jumping from one doctor’s appointment to the next” kind of weeks. I took you with me from the children’s hospital (and honestly, seeing so many sick kids around Christmas really stayed with me—please say a prayer for the children in the hospital) to the everyday stuff that still has to get done at home. I also shared a little win: our family photos came out and guys… those photos be it. Now I have the serious work of choosing which ones we want. I also officially started my baby on solids after we got cleared by the doctor. I showed you how I made a simple first purée (steamed carrots, apples, oats, a bit of formula, water, and tiny drops of olive oil), how I portioned it (literally one spoon at first—we’re experimenting), and how I stored the rest in fridge jars and freezer trays. In between, life was still lifing: chaotic diaper bag packing in -21°, trying to keep up with cleaning, organizing under the sinks so nothing leaks and stains again, and figuring out baby-proofing as rolling turns into crawling very soon. We also celebrated my husband’s birthday with friends, did a few “make the house a home” stops at Winners/Homesense, and I talked about trying to get my baby back on a bottle because I need help sometimes. Cozy, chaotic, honest—just how this season looks for me.
