About This Video

I’ve been wanting to test the HiBy R6 Pro II ever since it dropped, and honestly it’s lived up to expectations—because it delivers where it counts most: the sound. I’ve been using the iBasso DX300 for the past couple of years and I love that DAP, but the battery life on mine is pretty terrible. The R6 Pro II takes things to a whole new level in sound quality for me, mainly because it’s so transparent, clear, and musical, with a really noticeable reduction in background reflections and basically zero hiss. In this review I go over the build (great machining, but some sharp edges), the 5.9-inch 1080p screen (beautiful colors, not super bright outdoors), and the UI experience (fairly stock Android with Play Store included). I also dig into the audio settings—gain levels, Class A vs Class AB, filters, MQA, and the built-in 10-band EQ. My biggest complaint is the button layout, and the included case is genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever used because it can trigger the wrong buttons. For listening, I used it mainly balanced 4.4mm, pairing it with Thieaudio Prestige and testing tracks like “Black Shoes” (Felix Laband) and “Could You Be Loved” (Bob Marley) to check space, bass texture, and treble. The background is dead silent, it’s powerful enough for multi-BA hybrids, and it even drove my Focal Utopia 2022 and Sennheiser HD820. I definitely recommend it.
