About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing the Simgot EA1000 “Fermat”, and honestly it’s an absolute banger—one of the best earphones I’ve listened to in a long time. I go through the whole package (which is genuinely premium), the included tips, the carry case, and that spectacular stock cable. I also talk about why the “Fermat” naming actually signals something about the kind of nerdy/engineering mindset behind this product, and why I take this a lot more seriously than the usual marketing fluff companies throw around. Sound-wise, I break down what makes the EA1000 special: the midrange is blow-your-socks-off good with that planar-like black background, speed, clarity, and ridiculous detail retrieval. Imaging and separation are excellent, and the treble opens up in a way that helps create a realistically large soundstage—helped, I think, by the passive radiator venting on the shell. I also cover the interchangeable nozzle filters: normally I’m not a fan, but here Simgot did it right by giving slightly different flavors of a Harman-style tuning instead of goofy extremes. Bottom line: at around the ~$200 range, this is a true all-rounder for basically everything except the most bass-monstrous EDM cravings—where I’d still grab a dedicated bass set. Negatives are minor (fingerprint-magnet chrome and I’d like better tips in the box), but overall this is a ridiculously hard-to-fault IEM.
