I think it does indeed hype but not in a puch above its price way but instead as a redefinition of its price category.

About This Video

In this review I went into the 7Hz Timeless II completely pessimistic. I’ve been overwhelmed by all the “v2 / pro / plus” money-grab releases lately, and I’m at the point where I’d rather not post a video at all if something doesn’t add real value. The Timeless II looked like more of the same at first—same stupid round disc shell that still isn’t the most ergonomic, and even the faceplate looks a bit like a sticker. My first 30 minutes with the stock setup had me ready to dismiss it. Then the Timeless II pulled the rare move: the included nozzle filters actually transformed the sound. With the wrong filter it had this odd metallic sheen and aggressive upper mids, with bass feeling muted. Once I swapped filters (ending up on the silver set), it turned into an absolute monster—extremely detailed and refined, but with punchy, impactful bass and a slight hint of warmth that makes it way more musical. On tracks like “Quick Musical Doodles” for bass/treble and decay, Diana Krall for vocal float, and complex guitar work (Polyphia, Rodrigo y Gabriela), it just locked in. For me, this replaces my old planar barometer (TinHiFi P1) as the under-$500 planar gold standard—just… please, 7Hz, change that design.
