I think it does indeed hype but not in a puch above its price way but instead as a redefinition of its price category.

About This Video

In this video I’m back with a budget banger to kick things off: the 7Hz x Crinacle Zero 2. It’s a single 10mm dynamic driver IEM with an MSRP around $25, and honestly it’s impressive for what it costs. 7Hz have a track record of chasing “higher price point sound” at lower prices, and with Crinacle’s input on the tuning, this one lands as a really competent, balanced, neutral sort of earphone that just works. I go over the design and accessories too. You get three color options (white, turquoise, and the burnt orange I’m showing—which looks absolutely fantastic), a 2-pin connector, decent isolation, and a cable that’s actually pretty decent for the money. Sound-wise, the highs are the standout: detailed and airy without pushing into sibilance, which helps the soundstage feel more open than it otherwise would. Mids are strong as well—vocals and acoustic instruments come through with good imaging and separation. The only real limitation is bass: mid-bass is adequate, but there’s not much sub-bass, so it’s less ideal if you mainly listen to EDM or deeper bassline-heavy tracks.
