About This Video

Good morning guys and welcome to another final exam season. In this vlog I’m taking you through what third year vet school finals actually look like at OVC: nine exams in three weeks, a whole lot of desk time, and the very real burnout that comes with it. I start off feeling weirdly calm going into my clinical medicine final (1/9 done!), then get absolutely humbled by radiology (me and rads just don’t get along), and keep pushing through surgery, comparative, food animal, systems pathology, equine, pharmacology, and dog & cat. I talk honestly about what studying looks like when the content is massive (like 77 lectures for food animal), how sometimes you get lucky with what shows up, and how other times (hi systems path) you hit a wall and spiral because if you don’t know it… you don’t know it. I also answer a question I get all the time: yes, there is some math in vet school (fluids, drug doses, oxygen flow rates), but it’s manageable and mostly plugging into formulas. And then the best part: after the last final, we had our white coat ceremony. It was such a surreal, proud moment—seeing my classmates, having friends and family there, and feeling like all the late nights, stress, and even the crying were worth it. I can officially say I’m a fourth year vet student, and I’m so excited to bring you along for clinics and externships next.
