Good morning guys—welcome to a very real day in my life as a third year vet student… except now I’m doing vet school with a puppy. In this vlog I’m getting back into filming after being a little MIA (life has been absolutely insane) because I got a golden retriever puppy, Link, and the first couple weeks were honestly challenging. My life basically revolved around him and vet school got put on the back burner, so I’ve been playing catch up. But I’m finally finding a routine: early mornings (Link made me a morning person), breakfast + a walk, then studying for my equine midterm… which I’ll be honest, is not my favorite class. I take you along through my study setup, my “senioritis” motivation level, and how I’m using the Forest app to actually stay focused (I’m weirdly excited to unlock more trees). You’ll also see the puppy-parent side of things—training sessions, “place” work in the kitchen, brushing with a yogurt licky mat, and the mom guilt of crating/pen time while I study. I also share a big school update: we got our Phase 4 schedule for fourth year rotations (30 weeks total, with core rotations and electives), and I’m so excited to be done with classroom life and get back to hands-on learning. And yes… the equine midterm happened, and let’s just say it’s a good thing I’m not going to be a horse vet.
