About This Video

This week’s vlog is basically me leaning into the colder, overcast season and finding those small creative joys that make staying home feel really cozy. I start by unboxing two new cozy lamps from Tala (through Branch) and playing around with where they should live in my room. I talk about why I genuinely think backlighting is such an underrated creative tool—especially for fellow creators—because even if you have big windows, camera footage makes darker corners look way more obvious than they do in real life. Then we shift into my ceramics era, which is honestly just my favorite kind of hobby: creative, hands-on, and so fun to film. I repack my studio bag, share a little dream of eventually having a website to showcase my pieces, and then spend the weekend trying to throw as much as possible on the wheel (because the wheel and I are finally… slowly… clicking). Later, I sit down and walk you through the pieces I’ve made across my summer and fall sessions—my ribbed planter, the chaotic saga of Miss Moon Jar, an enclosed slab sculpture, a not-quite-functional lip balm holder (shrinkage is real), and my first wheel-thrown bowls I actually want to keep. My biggest takeaway: ceramics taught me to problem-solve, let pieces be imperfect, and appreciate what I learned—even when the glaze “goes everywhere.”
