This November has been a little bit busy for me (holiday season always ramps up work + life at the same time), so I wanted to sit down and share the creative tools that are helping me move faster without losing quality. In this video, I walk through a mix of old and new essentials—from a new editing resource I’ve been loving, to the camera + audio pieces that have genuinely made my filming easier and my editing way less time-consuming. I start with Storyblocks, which has been such a lifesaver during a packed season—especially now that I’ve switched from Final Cut Pro to DaVinci Resolve. I’ve been using their DaVinci templates for subtle transitions and cinematic texture, plus grabbing extra B-roll (like aerials/skyline shots) for moments I can’t always capture myself. Then I get into my current go-to gear: the DJI Mic Mini (consistent audio = less time matching levels), my “big mama” Sony 24–70mm f/2.8 GM II for buttery blurry backgrounds and crisp detail shots, and the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as my compact, all-in-one convenience camera (with settings tweaked to match my main Sony A7C look). I wrap up with a few editing/life helpers—Sony MX4 headphones for balancing dialogue + music, and blue light glasses because my editing sessions are usually late into the evening.
