About This Video

In this cozy year-end planty tag video, I’m throwing it back to old school YouTube and answering 10 houseplant wrap-up questions—wins, fails, routines, trend predictions, and what I’m dreaming about for 2026. I share the wishlist plant I finally crossed off (my variegated Rhaphidophora tetrasperma), how it survived an annoying aphid situation, and what I’m planning for support as it keeps growing. I also talk about what I want to lean into next year—giving my philodendrons a little more love again (without letting them take over my home), continuing my very humbling orchid learning curve, and exploring things like carnivorous plants, air plants, and even rhipsalis. I also get real about what plant care actually looks like for me: early mornings, cozy vibes, PlantTube or an audiobook in the background, and making chores feel like a little ritual (with tea, since I don’t drink coffee anymore). For wins, I’m celebrating my Philodendron sp. silver / ā€œEl Guapoā€ comeback after getting chopped down to wet sticks because of thrips. For fails, it’s been a rough time with Phalaenopsis orchids and a variegated Syngonium that keeps going too white. To wrap it all up, I share my 2026 trend predictions (more low-maintenance plants, fewer moss poles, more terrariums, and a big moment for variegated Begonia maculata), plus my biggest pest nemesis (mealybugs, forever) and my favorite plant of 2025: my Hoya polyura—repotted, thriving, and blooming for the first time.
