About This Video

My plant collection has been feeling a little messy and chaotic lately, and I finally hit the point where I was like… okay, we’re getting this under control starting today. After a pretty big downsize (I got rid of around 50 plants), a bunch of my planty areas were left looking kind of empty and strange, so this video is basically me puttering around my house like a lil planty fairy and restyling everything so it feels good again. I start with my IKEA Milsbo wide cabinet because it feels more contained than my shelves, and I try to get it back to a vibe that’s balanced—some rehab/ā€œgetting goingā€ plants are fine, but I need a few that actually look good in there too. I move a couple humidity-loving hoya back into cabinet life (Hoya undulata and my Hoya clemensiorum—yes, y’all were right), and I problem-solve the awkward ā€œin-between stageā€ styling struggle by boosting, clipping, and pinning things to the grid. Then it’s onto the living room window area: I chop my dormant caudex plant back, shuffle hoya around so I can actually appreciate them, and add command hooks to train my Begonia lucerna along the window for that cozy framed look. I also test out the Nurture System fertilizer for the first time (because you all have been raving about it), and I end up with one shelf that’s just… chef’s kiss—dark velvety leaves, a pop of flowers, some silver, and a little variegation. That’s the vibe I’m chasing for the rest of the refresh.
