About This Video

Hi and hello everybody — it’s Fern. In this March planty home walkthrough, I’m doing a full cozy tour of my space right before I tear things apart for painting (grow lights off, shelves pulled out, the whole chaos situation). I start in the bedroom with my wall plants, my hush Kiana throwing out flowers (and yes, the buttered popcorn smell at night), and my variegated raphidophora giving me those minty chunky leaves that I’m absolutely obsessed with. Then we move through my Vittsjo shelf styling moment (Polypodium? no — the P. floram front and center), a low-maintenance cloche begonia setup, and some honest updates on what’s thriving vs. what’s simply not taking (RIP to the micans cuttings experiment in LECA). I also check in on my moss pole climbers and cabinet plants, including rehabs that are actually coming back strong — like my king of spades after the whole rot-to-Ziploc-bag saga. You’ll see fresh leaves, blooms, and a few “hmm… what’s going on here?” moments (like a wonky anthurium leaf that might be edema/overwatering). In the living room, I share how I’m pinning my begonia lucerna to frame the window, talk through hoya blooms and peduncles, and show the plants I’m finally figuring out after a long struggle. The big takeaway: the collection is doing well, I’m mostly on top of chores, and I’m trying not to be too hard on myself while painting a home that has… like, 120 plants in it.
