About This Video

In this cozy little video, I’m combining a few of my favorite things: plant styling, thrifting, and a DIY that’s very much ā€œplant adjacent.ā€ I start off with a thrift trip (I go about once a month), and I’m on the hunt for specific things—especially a fabric background for a shadow box I’ve been wanting to make for my Vittsjƶ shelf area. I also keep my eye out for anything I can repurpose as a planter, because pink dishes, pink planters, and random little vessels are basically my weakness. Back home, I put together a faux moth shadowbox and, honestly, I’m shocked at how pretty it turned out—even after my glue situation got annoying. I ended up using fabric instead of paper for the backing, layered in faux florals, and leaned into that darker, moodier frame so it feels extra cozy next to my plant shelves. Then we pivot into more planty styling: I build out a brighter pinguicula ā€œping areaā€ under super bright puck lights (because my pings were pale and stretching), pot a few babies into thrifted glass, and talk through my shallow-root, reservoir-style setup. To finish, I do some home-and-plant styling moments I’ve been dreaming about—pinning my Begonia lucerna along the window with clear command hooks and twine, and choosing a spot for my variegated Rhaphidophora tetrasperma so it can eventually crawl up a wall. It’s cozy, a little chaotic, and very me.
