About This Video

In this video I’m doing a cozy little year-end roundup of every Hoya that flowered for me in 2025. None of them are in bloom right now (we’re filming in January), but I pop my photos/videos on screen and we chat through the flowers, the scents, how long they last, and which ones bloom constantly versus the ones that make you wait. A lot of my best bloomers live in my south window (premium Hoya real estate), but a few surprised me even in lower light or on my shelves under grow lights. I show you my Hoya david kamingi (pink fuzzy caramel flowers, blooms basically all the time), polyura (a totally unexpected first bloom for me), and my absolute stunner h. ‘hush kulana’ with that buttered popcorn scent. We also talk about carnosa types like crimson queen and compacta (beautiful chocolatey/Tootsie Roll vibes, but queen is stingy), plus some first-time bloomers like mirabilis (those long “parachute” peduncles are unreal) and my silver matildas—yes, including the infamous “cat pee” debate. I also mention a few hoyas I’ve since let go after downsizing, because honestly, sometimes I flower them once and feel like I’ve achieved the mission.
