This week I filmed in Houston, then traveled for a project in LA. I was able to visit Standard Camera and Moonlight Studio, using some cool gear and making things happen. I’m a Houston-based cinematographer with 15+ years of experience in commercial, documentary, narrative, and short-form projects. Passionate about visual storytelling, I use this channel to share insights, gear breakdowns, and filmmaking tips with fellow creatives. Inquiries: orlandobriones@gmail.com

About This Video

This week’s vlog is basically me in full “make it happen” mode—starting back home in Houston on a Sunday, running a micro-crew artist highlight shoot, and then immediately pivoting into travel for the next leg of a bigger project. I’m unloading and setting up by myself at first, then once the team’s in, we’re moving fast: one setup focused on showing off the building’s architecture, then we wrap and jump to location two for an interview before I’ve got to get out of town. From there, it’s been nonstop travel on the same project—Atlanta, Los Angeles, and then onward—because I’m currently producing a commercial. In LA I got to hang at Standard Camera, a rental house that’s heavily film-focused but still supports a lot of modern workflows. We used them to help put together an ARRI Alexa 35 build, did a proper prep, and then it was back to logistics: production vehicles, last-minute runs, and getting everything ready. I also landed at Moonlight Studios for two days of different setups, linked with the G& team, and had friends helping with BTS and PA so we could get in, get it done, and get out. If you like following a working DP/producer while I’m traveling like crazy, I’m dropping every week—and I’m pushing to hit 3,000 subs this year.
