Signal integrity is becoming a much needed topic to learn among high speed digital designers. I've noticed that PCB designers working in industry are generally following rules of thumb to design printed circuit boards. That's fine, but it's not enough to start innovating in the realm of high speed digital pcb design. I'm not advocating to ignore rules of thumb, but I know we can do more as electronics engineers and PCB designers. PCB Design rules are good for the beginning of PCB design, but it will only get you so far. What happens if you have to create an innovative PCB layout? So in this video you'll get a glimpse of how you can use OrCAD PCB editor to view the single ended impedance of your copper traces on your printed circuit board.
